Todd Hazelwood has smashed the outright Queensland Raceway National circuit lap record, stopping the clock at an incredible 1:02.622, eclipsing the previous record of 1:04.037 by more than 1.4 seconds.

The achievement is made even more impressive by the challenging conditions. Setting the record in the heat of the day meant the team and car were far from ideal performance conditions, with the higher track and ambient temperatures costing valuable grip and power.
